I'm sure many of you already know but
~ Akane came to visit for Chuseok! ~
We stayed in Jeollanam-do for one night and then made our way to Busan.
On our first morning, we walked around Haeundae searching for breakfast, only to find bars and clubs on the main strip.
On our first morning, we walked around Haeundae searching for breakfast, only to find bars and clubs on the main strip.

Breakfast soon turned to brunch, and then lunch. We took the L and made our way to YongGoongSa Temple,
which I'll save for another post~
Thankfully, Instagram is extremely popular here in Korea and many cafes use it for advertising. We looked through Instagram using the hashtag #busanbrunch to find a reliable spot for the following morning.
Incredibly, douce foret was only a 10-minute walk from our hotel, located at the eastmost end of Haeundae beach. Just looking through their Instagram page had us drooling and excited for the following morning, though Akane had to fly out soon after ㅜㅜ

With plenty of plants, flowers, and wispy white sheets covering the veranda, this is quite possibly one of the dreamiest / tastiest cafes in Busan (and maybe even Korea).
I probably took too many pictures, but I always take too many pictures. And I really love the mix of antique and modern elements found in this specific cafe.

We settled into a spot as it opened and were excited to have the place to ourselves!
Cheers! They have Korean and English menus^^
And sandwiches, crepes, and decent coffee is more brunch than I could hope for
Specifically, Einspänner can be found in many cafes here in Korea and is my new favorite drink after being introduced to them by Ji's sister. It's a Viennese style coffee with an espresso base, topped with sweet cream. The perfect balance of bitter and sweet~

This Einspänner was also coated with sugar on the rim of the glass.
I'm one of those people who can't choose between savory and sweet when having breakfast. (Shout out to Akane who holds to the same high brunch standards~) Therefore, we decided to share the Salmon Egg Open Sandwich and French Toast.
Raw salmon is probably my favorite food these days and you can't beat salmon with cream cheese, toast, and topped with a perfectly poached egg!
We also ordered the most picturesque french toast ever! It reminded me so much of the french toast my parents have mastered and whip up on special Sundays. We loved all the fruit, too (especially those summer peaches).

If you find yourself in Busan and looking for solid brunch, obviously, you should make your way to Haeundae and stop here.
